The current market price for helium-3 is $20 million per kilogram.

With uses such as superconducting quantum computing, weapons detection in national security, medical imaging, and developing clean fusion energy, we’re keeping an eye on it. 👀

The Apollo program didn’t just put people on the Moon—it built an entire industrial base to get them there.

Then, it disappeared.

Wait for it… Actually, don’t.

For decades, our only supply of helium-3 has come through the decay of tritium, a radioactive hydrogen isotope with a 12-year half-life.

7 days.

Zero chill.

Last week, Head of Product James Antifaev joined @bluefors.com leaders in Tysons, VA, at Quantum World Congress.

When they weren’t busy deciding the future of quantum (which is what happens at this event), they had a blast being IRL instead of juggling global time zones.

Coming in at #8 in MIT Technology Review’s daily newsletter, The Download: “The future of supercomputing could hinge on moon mining missions.”

That’s us! Harvesting helium-3 from the Moon to power quantum computing here on Earth. 👋✨

We might have missed the assignment—but we nailed the mission.

The Interlune team went to “Paint and Sip.” The facilitators said to paint “little happy trees.” All we heard was “lunar regolith.”

Off-topic, but on-brand.

Today we announced details of our plans for our grant from the Texas Space Commission.

Interlune will create a Lunar Regolith Simulant Center of Excellence near NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

100 metric tons per hour? It’s kind of a lot…

To harvest helium-3 from the Moon, Interlune must be able to efficiently and continuously excavate and process high volumes of lunar regolith.
