Wait.. is there more to this story cause 👀☕

The arrogance of these aggrieved business owners who make it their whole personality to shit on Portland is something else. I love how Ryan has a whole "storefront business owners" class of people he constantly refers to as needing special considerations and injects it into every conversation.

It's also incredibly dangerous that we have business lobbying groups, some city councilors like Dan Ryan and Eric Zimmerman, alongside local media perpetuating this drivel.

If/once the fed threats end, we can expect them to crank up the whine machine again.

Everyone can set aside partisanship, psychologizing, pathologizing, whatever, and—I would hope—still see that it’s incredibly dangerous for a political leader to be this disconnected from the real conditions in the country.

I wrote they’d do exactly this in a newsletter last week and I don’t know why this wasn’t bleedingly obvious to everyone with sense.

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

I'm also curious but I don't know. The property has been in their family since the early 90's.

Yeah I haven't been in there since pre 2020. The coffee is not very good either. Glad Jim + Patty's is open again down the street.

At least 6 unhoused Chicagoans have been abducted by federal agents since September: 2 have been released, while the status of the remaining 4 is unknown. But the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness is investigating reports of an additional 19 people disappeared.

It’s enabling the oppressor, by the way. All of these rules that victims are supposed to follow while the perpetrator is permitted to be lawless reinforce the power inequity between them.

And the myth of the perfect victim is designed to strip victims of the tools they need to escape.

One of the things that brings me the greatest despair in authoritarianism is watching people react to state violence the way they react to domestic violence.

By justifying anything and everything the perpetrators does through blaming a victim for failing to be submissive enough.

Keeping an eye on this in Seattle. We may see similar as Portland Street Response continues to expand towards 24/7/365 and the Portland Police Association contract is up for bargaining soon.

Y'all who keep lecturing protesters to "not give them an excuse" need to pause for a minute. Imagine yourself telling a DV victim, "Be sure not to mouth off or make any mistakes so he won't hit you. Don't give him an excuse! It's what he wants!" That's what you fools sound like.

Being able to board at all doors on SF MUNI is so freaking nice. Game changer for dwell times, less passenger bunching. Thumbs up.

San Francisco may be the most pedestrian-friendly big city in the United States. Most if not all intersections downtown have Leading Pedestrian Intervals. Stop lines at intersections are pushed back so drivers aren’t breathing down your neck. The transit is comprehensive, frequent and easy to use.

Super happy to see this significant expansion of PSR hours and availability.
