1 in 8 teenagers now has an eating disorder, NHS study says
NHS England's report showed 12.5 per cent of 17 to 19-year-olds now has an eating disorder, up from just 0.8 per cent in 2017, with an even sharper rise recorded in women in this age group.

Eating disorders are not all about food. They're often about trauma, grief, pain, anxiety, sadness and control. Beyond the surface level focus on food and body image, ED are often complicated coping mechanisms for underlying emotional struggles.
