AuDHD. Enjoys movies, tv, books, TTRPGs, video games, podcasts, etc. He/him.
: Playing a video game and the annoying sidekick finally tips over into lovable true friend territory:
Me: Aww. I'm beginning to like him now.
Wife: Me too.
Me: Now it's going to be sad when he dies.
Wife: What!?
Me: I mean, I don't KNOW that's going to happen. Just saying, I'll be sad.

I like my seasons so long that they are a tapestry of fun diversions, or so short that they tell one cohesive satisfying story without padding.

It’s frequently the stuff in the middle that I take issue with.

Say what you will about Death of the Author, but I kinda can’t read a book without knowing when it was written.

I just realized that, if I only had a DVR out of college, it probably would’ve taken me much longer to transition to streaming.

Its possible that cable would have been able to keep up the fight longer if DVRs had been more readily available.

How anyone carries on a conversation while music is playing is beyond me. Especially lyrical music. It’s like overlapping subtitles in my brain.

I don’t know if this is genius or if my brain is tired:

Two person TTRPG in which 2 complete strangers, both near death, agree to a controversial spell to save their lives. They are permanently merged into the same body, looking like a combination of both, but retaining separate consciousnesses.

“The VHS damage is part of the experience.”

For some reason, that really spoke to me.

During a shower, my ADHD decided to go on an all-vegan diet for a month and planned out meals and how to tell others.

All the while my ASD had been waving his arms and shouting his name, to no effect.

I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legends have a real 2 Spider-men pointing at each other scenario going.

… Is describing the gif without showing it mean I’m too social media-poisoned or being defiantly un-social media-friendly?

I’m pretty sure my deep seated, subconsciously-enforced inability to engage with sports comes from years of being awkward and uncoordinated with a shockingly flat learning curve for any physical skill competitions.

Hey. Have you heard of this Rear Window movie? It’s pretty good.

Being upset with how things are now and reminiscing about how things were better then is the great social uniter.

Being specific about which things are bad now and which things were better when and why is a great social divider.

I hate when a perfectly fine, better-than-expected movie keeps butting up against transcendence and backing away.

Once is just the path not taken. Twice is disappointing, c’mon. It probably wouldn’t have worked out.

One of my sons loves organizing and sorting his toys. He’s in heaven getting to pass out all of the presents. It’s what he’s been training for.

How does one describe frustration with a fictional character that comes more out of empathy than anger?

The most important thing that Gunn can do now is to fix the Superman canon so that George Reeves is the father of Christopher Reeve.

There will be a 12-issue documentary series to explain what happened to the missing “s”.

Welp. That’s 3-0 for Benoit Blanc.

Wake Up Dead Man may even be my favorite, but it’s a close race between all three.

A friend: I even re-play old episodes of podcasts.

Me: Yeah, I just can’t listen to the same episode over and over. Okay, I occasionally give an episode a re-listen, especially if I was distracted the first time.

And there’s one podcast I have on constant rotation since 2012, but other than that…

I have a memory of watching a trailer for a TV movie where the protagonist is in love with a woman and the jealous male rival cryogenically freezes him. Years later he’s thawed out to find his love married the rival (and maybe had kids?). And its all a somber and melodramatic.

I don't want to be Mr. Oldman Millennial about everything, but it is a struggle sometimes to take (for lack of a better term) internet drama seriously, when we have to use their silly screen names.

I'm sure what ChipBisket68 did to LustFoSho was inexcusable, but it sounds like gibberish.

If I could get away with it, I think I would have a small TV with built-in VHS at my workstation, just playing whatever tapes I can find in the background.

I am someone who avoids hard swears and even uses special characters as workarounds. And that’s when I’m not dancing around topics like sex and other (taboo?) topics.

But for the record, no I’m not doing this for ”the algorithm“ (whatever that would mean on BS) nor for any judgmental reasons.
