While I can't say I "know" Swen better than anyone else that's casually followed Larian since D:OS 2, it's disheartening to see the same guy who gave that speech at the game awards in 2023 not get the full picture on GenAI after already burning his hand on that stove just a few weeks ago.
Larian CEO says Divinity could have gen AI assets in it but only if the tools are trained on the studio's own data.
"If we use a GenAI model to create in-game assets, then it'll be trained on data we own."
