So I think the insight here will be less “aren’t these awful people terrible”. Been there, done that. What might actually help is: How does Britain work? What is the business of politics, what makes something “news”, how do the people involved behave, how do the public form the impressions they do?

Anyway, to be more direct: the credit crunch lessons were not learned; sufficient regulation was not put in place; financialisation continues to accelerate inequality and inflate bubbles ripe for bursting; and those that lose hard are rarely those responsible.

Are you telling me inequality within this country hasn't increased in the last 50 years? That the proportion of wealth held by the richest hasn't increased?
