I get the pushback to Bluesky in that it further bifurcates our media ecosystem. But at this point, Twitter’s content moderation is so nonexistent and its verified users so extreme that the choice becomes either move away from Twitter or be subjected to straight up 4chan nazi bile on a daily basis.

As a biblical studies major who deconstructed and deconverted *because I studied the Bible*, I don’t think Christian nationalists understand how teaching the Bible in school could backfire big time. But since they haven’t read the thing, I don’t expect them to understand.

Every day I become more convinced that we could’ve saved a whole ton of violence and toxicity if the book of Revelation had either never been written or never been allowed in any canon. That book does nothing but feed into Christian extremists’ wet dreams of “holy war.”

I truly wouldn’t care if a man dressed like the king of England was in the urinal next to me. I get that for extremely online rightwingers, a trip to a public bathroom might be the most memorable moment of the day, but the rest of us truly do not give a shit who is peeing nearby.
