What is a color you do not like? Can you dig into your past to find that first trigger? There is always a reason.

What's the color of the eyes of someone you love? When having a hard day, think of that color, breathe it in ... exhale your hardships.

Color is relative. What we see is not what others see, so why should our interpretations of it be the same as well?

How do you feel about red? Do different shades make you feel different?

Let's talk black & white. Both can be all the colors mixed or the absence of color entirely. They are standalone colors as well. How do you feel about black? How do you feel about white? Are you able to broaden those meanings with deeper digging? ⚫⚪

One of my own pieces using personally expressive color. This painting was created after the loss of a dear friend, my grandfather and an uncle in the span of just over a month.

What is your favorite color? I challenge you to think of 3 examples of things you don't like/give you a negative feeling that just happen to be that color. How does it make you feel? Do you soften on your dislike? Do you enjoy the color less? Do they feel very separate?

What is something you love that is yellow? What is something you think is gross that's yellow? What is something that scares you that is yellow? What person do you think of when you see yellow? How do they make you feel? 🟡

Typically when one thinks "blue", they first associate "sad" or "calm". Red could be "anger" or "passion". With personal color associations, they could have any meaning, even the exact opposite of what one may assume! See comments for examples and feel free to share your own for blue🔵 and red🔴.
