Recently I came across a discussion on LinkedIn, where the creator claimed that many successful projects to not use TDD. This created a riot, with many people pointing out that the mentioned projects had tests, so that the claim was invalid, completely ignoring the fact that having tests and […]

Using https://crates.io/crates/clap to do CLI argument parsing in #rust is really a breeze. A very enjoyable experience.

I always forget that I have zellij installed. https://zellij.dev/
It is a real cool terminal workspace, very much like tmux, but usable.

When I use cargo component new to build a CLI component for Rust/Wasm/Wit, the cargo component build step will automatically translate a main function to .e.g. wasi:cli/run or println! statements to the according stream functions from the wasi world. With wasm-tools component wit I can even […]

Though I am german and live in Germany, I made it a habit to support @guardian - having lived in the UK for around 6 years I always enjoyed the newspaper (then still on paper), and I admire that all the articles are kept free for everyone. Being able to gather information from various sources is […]

Tomorrow we have a small #rust gathering in Hamburg, Germany. From 1800 to 2100 roughly. It is more a show and tell format. Deliberately so that we are all more engaged and the hurdle to demonstrate something is kept small. If you are interested send me a PM.

I am still having fun with #rust, @moonbitlang the #spin framework (https://developer.fermyon.com/spin/v3/index) and kubernetes. Deployed a WebAssembly application (admittedly a toy app) written in #Rust with the #leptos framework, to K8s in an 8Mb container without any size tuning.

I believe […]

http://ttl.sh is an ad hoc docker registry which you can use without login and push images to, which will be deleted again after a certain amount of time. That makes it ideal as a playground when experimenting with containers. I really loved using it.

It was not really on my radar, but since my interest in Webassembly increased, I have been working more and more with Rust. So far I really like it, a nice language, excellent libraries and briliant tooling. And wasm support out of the box.

I have been digging into Webassembly recently. Do you have recommendations for literature or good websites? I use MoonBit as my language of choice, but that is not really important. I'd like to learn more about existing infrastructure, internals like memory management, threading, etc. Any hint […]

For those of a particular #scala vintage, @rit was one of the most recognizable figures in the community for quite a while. For those who came to the language after his direct influence waned, you can still see the traces of his fingerprints transitively all over the ecosystems we have today […]

Whixh search engine would you recommend - should abide EU laws, not prone to influence by US tech giants and ideally be driven by doing something good instead of doing something for profit?
