'Across the bay' - Late afternoon from Embleton Bay with the sunlight kissing the tops of the marram grass. #EmbletonBay #Dustanburgh #Northumberland #LeeFilters

'Dolerite' - the dolerite boulders at Dustanburgh. Too much sea rolling in that morning to move any closer to the water. The sea spray in the distance catching the dawn sunlight. #Northumberland #Dustanburgh #LeeFilters

'Ballaugh Beach' - a week on the Northumberland coast, albeit with not many photos taken, has maybe provided some stimulus to head to my own coast. Today's soft evening sunlight at Ballaugh Beach. #IsleofMan #IsleofManLandscapes #ManxNature

'Good to be back' - 8 years on from my last visit to the stunning Embleton Bay and Dustanburgh Castle on the Northumberland Coast. Then no sun and this time the complete opposite with only a few glimpses of some much needed cloud. Here, high cloud at dawn as the waves roll in.

'Half Moon' - over Milner's Tower as the last of the setting sun catches the headland. From August. #IsleofMan #IsleofManLandscapes #ManxNature

'Down to Earth' then sinks the sun. (Nick Drake - day is done). From August - glorious late evening light over the Northern Hills. The white specks of sheep on the valley slope giving a sense of scale. #IsleofManLandscapes #IsleofMan #ManxNature

Waiting for the sun - it could be a long wait today! Just searching through the archives for shots for an upcoming project and came across this one from 2014. #stopgettingdistracted! 😀

'Niarbyl Bay' - the view across the bay from the back of Bradda from last week. I was hoping the sunlight would also break through and catch the cloud atop of Cronk ny Array Laa. Unfortunately, not to be. Try again next year. #IsleofManLandscapes #ManxNature #IsleofMan

'Closer to the edge' - On my way over to the back of Bradda - but hard to resist a shot of Milner's Tower on the way. Although, with a strong breeze blowing, this was as close to the cliff edge as I was getting.

'Patch of the day'. A little clump of heather still going strong on Slieau Freoaghane looking toward Snaefell and North Barrule. A quick dash from the other side of the hill to get this one in the final direct sunlight of the day. A favourite from yesterday evening. #IsleofManLandscapes #ManxNature

Thanks, Alan. Yes, Bliberry mountain in Manx. The heather still going strong in places, so hopefully will hang on for a few more weeks.

On Bilberry Hill' - The breezy wait rewarded with some thrilling light this evening from the western slope of Slieau Freoaghane. #IsleofManLandscapes #IsleofMan #ManxNature

'To Enlightenment' - ...or maybe not. The pathway heading into the setting sun after an evening wander up Carraghan. A shot that's always hard to resist. Usually the sun is too harsh. But, the evening haze and low cloud aided as an extra filter. #IsleofMan #IsleofManlandscapes

'Stylish' - lovely light, enhanced by the cloud layer. The stunning view north from Slieau Whallian. #IsleofManLadscapes #IsleofMan #ManxNature

'Let it glow' - Cronkdhoo in the evening light. No shortage of shots from here over the years. But, with a strong wind blowing, my first choice of location wasn't an option, so plan z it was.

'Young at Heart' New growth through the old bones of the heather looking toward Foxdale and St.Johns. A quick dash to try and find a composition as the sunlight broke through the gaps in the cloud. #IsleofMan #IsleofManLandscapes #ManxNature

Thanks for the Manx info, Alan. I wasn't aware it had a Manx name. Cheers
