According to the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, the Islamic Republic has carried out at least 1,661 executions in Iran since the start of 2025 including nine public executions.

November alone accounts for 283 executions to date.

The body of #Atefeh_Naami, an activist in the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, was found in her home in Karaj on November 26, 2022.
She joined the protests because she said she couldn’t stay silent. She distributed her handwritten notes among people, urging everyone to join the protests.

On the night of November 15, 2022, Shahriar Mohammadi secretly removed the body of his friend, Mohammad Hassanzadeh—killed during the protests—from Gholipour Hospital in Bukan to prevent security forces from seizing it, and took it to his hometown village.

Mr. Habibollah Fathi was actively involved in the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests in the city of Divandarreh. He stayed in contact with the young protesters, trying to look after them and advise them on how to maintain their personal safety.

Omid Mo’ayedi was 20 years old — a protester enraged by the killing of Nika Shakarami. Around 9 p.m. on November 15, 2022, on Pasdaran Boulevard in Shiraz, he was shot in the back with pellets while trying to help a detained protester.

According to the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, the Islamic Republic has carried out at least 1,543 executions in Iran since the start of 2025, the highest level in 30 years, averaging one person every five hours. November alone accounts for 166 executions to date.

Javad Rezai loved music and literature and was a sculptor. On November 16, 2022, he joined the protests and told his friends, “We are pedestrians with no weapons. By law, officers have no right to shoot at us. When they attack, we must not run.”

Borhan Karami loved football and mountain climbing. On November 16, 2022, he “put on his Kurdish shawl” and joined the protests. While walking down a relatively quiet street, he was shot, fell to the ground, and lost his life.

#MohsenMohammadpur was a student who also worked as a laborer alongside his studies. He was an energetic, cheerful teenager who loved football.

Borhan Mansournia was sensitive to the social issues around him, and economic inequality troubled him deeply. He hoped that after completing his military service, he would return to his hometown, Marivan, to establish a modern veterinary clinic and serve the people of the region and nearby villages.

On Nov 3, 2022, Erfan Zamani was shot at close range with pellet bullets by plainclothes security forces.
Eyewitnesses stated that he might have survived if he had been taken to the hospital sooner, but the officers prevented people from helping him.
