over time i wanna pick at like. a little zine of dez fashion

a very loose unfinished digital sketch of prosciutto and melone from jojo's bizarre adventure, in desaturated shades of mustard yellow, orange, mauve, and dark grey. prosciutto is smoking a cigarette and impatiently tugging melone along by the hand, as melone chuckles and looks back behind them. prosciutto is more or less in his canon suit and ascot/neck thing, but melone has been rescued from his canon outfit and is instead in a fitted turtleneck, cropped pants with a chain belt, heeled ankle boots, and a blazer worn capelet-style over his shoulders.

going more mainstream, the whole bvlgari aqva line has bottles that look like water droplets. i think that's fun
a (kind of low res and blurry, sorry) photo of bvlgari aqva marine, which is very light blue, and bvlgari aqua, which is a deeper teal. they're both perfectly round bottles with reflective metal tops, rather than the traditional perfume shape of the top/atomizer being separate from the bottle body, which makes them look like giant drops of water.

for novelty caps i also really like nasomatto blamage (the main note of blamage is birch, hence the cap!!). and orto parisi cuoium being encased in leather is imo a really classy and interesting way to set it apart while still leaving the bottle shape recognizable
a photo of a bottle of nasomatto blamage. the cap is a sawed off piece of birch branch, bark and all, painted flat white, and is actually a little bigger than the 30ml rectangular bottle itself, which is covered in grey/brown wood grain. a lineup of several different nasomatto perfume bottles, to contrast with the previous image of blamage. all of them have clean, rectangular glass bottles with different-colored perfumes inside, and oversized wooden caps about the same size as the bottle itself. the caps all have different colors/finishes of wood. some are cylindrical, and some are rectangular. blamage is the only bottle where the wood cap includes bark/irregularities. a photo of orto parisi cuoium. it is a classically shaped bottle with a sloping neck, entirely encased in wrinkled, dark brown leather, so you can't see the perfume inside. there is an indistinct pattern embossed in the leather, and the cap is weathered metal. a spread of orto parisi bottles, to compare with the previous picture of cuoium. they all have different colored perfume inside, but for the most part are simply sleek, classic-looking glass bottles, with understated labels wrapped around a depression in the glass, and different materials inset in the tops of the caps.

you've got me ranting now but like. i am not opposed to a novelty bottle!!! i am drawn to novelty bottles actually. i just think these are tacky. in comparison, like, for example, the grenade-shaped bottles of flowerbomb/spicebomb by viktor&rolf are adorable (+ there are a bunch of fun variants!)
a picture of a bottle of flowerbomb perfume. it is a faceted, oblong bottle full of pink perfume, with a tag in the shape of a wax seal poking out where the neck meets the cap, giving the effect of a grenade pin. a picture of spicebomb cologne. like flowerbomb, it has the general shape of a grenade, though it has a metal band around the middle and straight sides, and a similar wax seal shaped tag hanging from the atomizer giving the impression of a grenade pin. the perfume inside is clear/light grey. a grid of google image/shopping results of different variants of spicebomb. they all have the grenade shaped bottle with the wax seal pin, but some are opaque, some have a gradient of color, the metal bands around the center are different colors, etc.

listen. i'm always happy to receive a perfume sample and will always be excited about them but this is the worst possible perfume sample FORMAT in the whole entire world. [cracks it open anyway]
a very small (0.7ml/0.02oz) sample of blamage by nasomatto. rather than being in a vertical vial or mini atomizer, it's just pumped into a tiny plastic blister about the size of a 10 euro cent coin, which is then nestled in an admittedly elegant black cardstock holder a bit bigger than a business card. it's not evident from the photo, but the plastic blister can be removed from that holder.

and to keep that consistent i have a little document where i'm jotting down broad observational strokes about how nt99 questers are Playing the oss as a collaborative player character. im not showing you everything but here's some first impressions from these first few updates so far
