Read a few comics as a kid, but the bug didn’t kick in until avoiding studying for college finals—& there was the spinner rack. Eventually burned out by X-Men crossovers and New 52. Dipped a toe in again a few years ago and am feeling the joy again! 🏳️‍🌈

This is what it looks like for me:
Testing how I appear over here on the Bluesky app. #TCMParty

I’d agree, and I’m a die-hard Nightwing fan who loves that cover.

One of the clerks at my LCS today said that he would make this issue mandatory reading if he could and put it in everyone’s pullbox.

He’s the one who convinced me to try that first issue, and he was right. I’ve continued to enjoy it.

Never was a Transformers fan prior to this series, so factor that in.

I like the shared universe, and Void Rivals is a fantastic series. The little crossovers they’ve done have worked for me.

That has happened to me a few times. I rely on them for enthusiastic recommendations!

The Annie Wu variant is the one on my order form!

As you also had Supergirl, I probably should have replaced that with Deluge #1 as a (hopefully) good horror comic for October/Halloween.
The cover of Deluge #1 shows a woman swimming from deep in the water to the surface with a monster looking at her with its mouth open and fangs exposed. Art by Riley Rossmo.

A few of the issues that will be among the first read…
Cover of Supergirl #6 shows Supergirl being held by a pit of demons, and a woman is standing above her holding a flaming sword. She says, “And now, Supergirl…you shall know the power of Nightflame!” Art by Sophie Campbell. The cover of Masterminds #2 shows a number of dead bodies in various positions. Superimposed over them is a red maze of sorts in the shape of a diamond. Art by Stephen Thompson. The cover to Marian Heretic shows a nun burst out with a staff that has a cross on the top. There’s a dove on the right side and small flames below her. Art by Jose Jaro. The cover of Everything Dead & Dying #2 shows a man lying in a field surrounded by daisies, his arms stretched out on his sides and at/over his head. Could be a zombie! Art by Jacob Phillips.

Perhaps he is putting on some weight and needs a little shaping and control. 😉

I’m not a Harley fan, but this looks like it might be fun!

No surprise. Given my klutziness, I’d run from the killer and trip!

Somehow, I don’t see many people there wanting go do that given how they vote. 😉

Having lived in NE Ohio with relatives and friends throughout the state (including the southern part), there is a homogeneity at a basic level in approach to life. That’s reinforced when I’ve met people from Ohio/Indiana/Western Pennsylvania in other places, even lately.

Dolly is one of the best of us! 💕

Tombstone is one of Spidey’s foes that I like a lot. He’s written with more complexity, and I particularly liked him during the recent Gang War.

West Virginia, yes.

Are there similarities to Tennessee and Ohio/Indiana? I’m not familiar with it.

It would be difficult to lump Tennessee with them without Kentucky, and I don’t think Kentucky is very like Ohio, except maybe along the borders.

I agree that eastern and western Pennsylvania are very different, and that the western part has much more in common with Ohio.

Ohio and Indiana are very similar in culture.

The anthology style allows Geoff Johns to explore a variety of horror styles while telling different characters’ stories.

What makes this special is exploring the back stories of the residents and what it is like for them on Hyde Street. It invests us in the bigger picture. What is really going on?

…residents punishes the person and damns their souls. Each soul they claim earns them another point—tracked by the Scorekeeper—and they are that much closer being able to earn their freedom.

The primary residents we see competing for souls are Pranky the Boy Scout and Mr. X-Ray, a salesman.
Cover to Hyde Street #1 shows Mr. X-Ray colored in purple tones with his X-Ray specs with green lenses. There are faint red lines emanating from the specs in circles (like radar). There is a trickle of blood from his lower lip to his chin. Art by Ivan Reis and Danny Miki.

Hyde Street is an ongoing series from Image/Ghost Machine. I like that each issue has a self-contained major story but there are subplots running through as connective tissue.

The premise is that people on a “naughty list” of sorts find themselves (somehow) on Hyde Street. There, the unlucky…
Cover to Hyde Street #1 shows Pranky sitting on a barstool with his latest victim (a cop) as a dog chews an arm while the bar is in flames. Art by Ivan Reis and Danny Miki.
