Not whipping votes against the funding is a failure of leadership.
And Schumer’s do-nothing posture in the Senate is inexcusable.
These are not the leaders we need in a moment of existential danger.

Nailing him on some technical side charge would miss the point.
He needs to be removed for attacking the constitutional order itself — so it sets a real deterrent.
Otherwise the message is: break democracy, just don’t mess up your paperwork.

“Good dictator” is a contradiction.
Dictators rule by repression, violence, and fear.
If someone looks “good,” it’s because the brutality is being ignored or sanitized.

The statement "Nostalgia is not a strategy" is incredibly apt. The world has changed. Failing to address reality and act collectively will only lead to being picked off one by one by powerful nations. What democratic countries lack now is not slogans, but clarity and unity.
