37.5% of sharks and rays are threatened with extinction according to the IUCN Red List of threatened species.

The Coalition to Halt the Extinction of Sharks and Rays has been established to stop extinction of sharks.

Winner of the Ocean category was Daniel Fildes for Harbour Anemones. The judge said:This photo shows the magical world that lies just below any pier, jetty or harbour in Ireland.
