Something was different this morning. A first thought upon getting out of bed was "Imma make some gumbo today". Shrimp and andouille gumbo to be exact. Today I had lunch with my daughter. We made each other laugh. The day seemed brighter.

Since January, my mental health has taken a beating. Mugged in broad daylight and stuffed into a trashcan by stress, anxiety, and...well, everything. I was withdrawing from people I love and things I enjoyed, even gumbo.
