Fabulous! When did you have a clear night? Every time I get an aurora alert I have cloudy skies. 🤨

I was a senior in high school sitting in my physics class watching. My physics teacher, John Jose, was a finalist in the teacher selection for this mission. It hit really hard that this could’ve been him.

And in less than 30 seconds, between the lowering sun and the near hills blocking the horizon, the fleeting glimpse of Glory is naught but a memory that you want to share.

and then you realize that there is a character limit.....

But the rest - the snow & the clouds - are an exquisite shade of sunset pink with the sky behind them a much paler pink fading into ice blue above the cloud layer. It takes your breath away.

Stretching a good 90 degree arc of the horizon line in front of you is a freshly snowed upon mountain range with a string of clouds above them about the same size as the mountains. The bits of mountain where the snow has not stuck are the same steel blue as the bits of cloud that are in shadow.
