simple cause and effect thing here. people go to X for news from DCC or MÉ because that's one of the places where those orgs choose to post. I suspect many Irish public bodies are seriously overestimating the practical reach and usefulness of X nowadays also
One reason that X remains a ‘core’ news and information app is that vital utilities and public bodies treat it as a central communication tool with the public.
Gardai, buses, trains, weather alerts, airports, councils etc.
If something urgent happens, they treat X as a primary platform.
