Wow. Just wow. This describes my child completely. Hyper focusing on a project, forgetting to eat, etc. We've had a diagnosis of autism, but are also pursuing an ADHD diagnosis as well.

I completely resonate with masking. My mom was all "smile and people will like you", never really seeing what was underneath. For the longest time I just thought I was a "social chameleon". Now I realize I was emulating what other people were doing so I'd feel less "different"
