In other news, my air conditioner broke down today. It's only been used maybe twice since I got it in 2019 but somehow it got water in the motor and rusted. Also, it reached 30°c at my house today. 🫠

I never bought into the coffee pods gimmick but I'm fixing a machine for someone and I discovered that Nespresso actually barcode them to prevent you using any other brands.
There's even a "black market" for barcode stickers you can reuse. I'm amazed this vendor-lock BS ever got off the ground.

Lidl is selling a spray that is supposed to keep Martens from eating your engine wiring. Personally, I've never seen a Marten outside of a zoo. Our native Pine Marten is almost extinct in Ireland.

So we're heading into our 5th day with no gas for cooking/heating.
They dug loads of these holes & tapped in a drain to get water out of the gas main.
To top it all off, I discovered the storm blew the flashing off my chimney and it's been letting water into the attic. 🙈

Still no joy on fixing the gas.
I got some small electric heaters to get us by. They struggle, but they'll do.
Apparently there's water flooding into the gas supply, or the other way around depending on who you ask, but they're not optimistic it'll be sorted anytime soon.
