Actor. Director. Dad. Famously engaged, happily married. I love my kids, my family, my friends, and the Portland Trail Blazers. I try to be a good guy.
Not a book but if you can find it, an old JHigh buddy of mine made a documentary called “On the Line: Dissent in the Age of Terrorism” back in 2007 and he follows Fr. Dan to SOA protests. Some incredible interviews with him.

I hear you. But he’d also written and directed the neo noir/comedy “Payback” starring then-megastar-(shudder)-Mel-Gibson which was a huge hit. It made $150 mil! So he was a pretty known quantity. And besides, Gen Zs got me in my feelings out here acting like history started in 2003 (grumble grumble)

Indeed. But the idea that OSCAR WINNING LA CONFIDENTIAL SCREENWRITER Brian Helgeland was an “almost total unknown” makes my film major’s heart wither

And the danger of this sort of open bigotry in an administration that tried to overturn the will of a multiracial electorate and is eviscerating civil rights protections and voting rights, continues to treated by too many as mere politics and not a dangerous entrenchment of white rule.

The VP of the US can give a speech saying no one has to be ashamed to be white anymore — the type of mainstream political speech we haven’t seen since before the civil rights acts, and the rhetoric is treated as merely divisive with few pointing out the obvious truth that white men remain in power.

One can post white supremacist talking points all day every day while your company was facing multiple race discrimination complaints and your racism is viewed as so beside the point that you are offered a trillion pay package.

I’m partial to the Country Club dig but the whole review is an embarrassment of riches.
