Yeah for sure. Give it a try and rip it out if you don't like it. I wouldn't be surprised if there's tutorials.

Fair. Maybe magnetic ones would work. I've not tried them myself but people seem to like them. Either tieing or wrapping to make them shorter

Hard relate! Tension clips have been working great for me.
Super adjustable and I just folded over my edge a bit to make the gap a bit wider and it actually gives a better grip so it doesn't rip the linen
