More than 370 mayors, local leaders, national government representatives, and frontline practitioners from 116 cities and 46 countries came together to share and build innovative solutions to counter extremism and polarization and create safer, more cohesive cities. 🔽

During the talk, Sasha stressed that platforms prioritize divisive, sensationalist voices routinely over informed and balanced perspectives. The result: distorted public discourse and shrinking space for democratic dialogue.

Our analysis found numerous instances like these of users posting videos online to harass or intimidate migrants, or individuals perceived as immigrants. Far-right actors were found to encourage this, driving others to record, post online to gain ‘clout’ and inspire others.
