People are just losing touch with their basic humanity. I started reading again and I feel far more grounded now... getting into someone else's head and how they process what they are going through is very therapeutic.

Living in a rural area usually means you are more able to grow food, have space to store it for the winter, have a place to build and store tools... even simpler things like in-home washers and dryers for your laundry.

Living in cities makes people far more dependent on outside sources for practically everything. Outsourcing basic things is just the price of living in a place and in a way where it simply makes sense.

The union people seem to be too afraid of losing their jobs and obedient to actually see through a strike.

The Air Canada flight attendants kept up their strike after the order for binding arbitration and actually changed things. They were willing to risk a lot and showed their backbone.
