alisaie gets annoyed when her echo pokes into a dream and turns out to be warning her of burnt toast or a stubbed toe

marina no, but she does have vivid nightmares of all the ways a battle could have gone wrong, as in all the visual markers being echo warnings of failed attempts

alisaie's echo awoke during the final days but haunts her with possible futures rather than flashbacks, and unhelpfully cryptic hints

she got better... mostly... soteria is holding back the light corrosion, but eventually she'll be gone and marina will go blind

which is why she attached to alisaie so hard, ali's the first and only npc to consistently stop and directly ask how wol is holding up

in awe of her crush, sure, but for a deeply struggling wol she's a vital lifeline in the face of the msq trauma grinder

marina's core theme is "what if wol isn't okay actually", and broadly exploring invisible disability

by nature of being an mmorpg, the main quest can't help but railroad her into things she doesn't want to do, and my writing explores what that does to a person over time without someone to lean on

for example; aurora tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, womanhood, (in some cases) religion. For me when i make decisions as small as gender it can completely alter how I write a character!!
