Ah, like the Australian Bunya Pine. Authorities often remove these from beachside locations to prevent them falling on people.

Feels odd being in a church for Nine Lessons & Carols after seeing Wake Up Dead Man last night.

Daughter singing Christmas songs with her choir in a local shopping centre this morning. So here’s a photo of something else wishing you a Merry Christmas.

We flew to Helsinki, spent a week there, then took the train to Turku. Ferry from Turku. Coming back we took the ferry direct to Helsinki. My memory is that the ferry journey from Turku was more visually stimulating.

Post a favourite work of art from the year exactly 50 years before you were born.

Day 1 of my AC Perch #teavent A subtle flavoured tea - delicate floral and fruit flavour, hint of spice, and a good astringent aftertaste.

This year I’ve treated myself to a loose tea advent calendar from AC Perch - a Danish tea merchant. As you can see it comes in a beautiful box, each tea is in a generous tin, and there’s a booklet of details about the teas. #teavent

At local shopping centre Rudolph appears to be portrayed as some kind of mole, emerging from the ground. In my head somehow this helps explains the shiny nose.

Quite peculiar beer - does taste like sour raspberry waffles in liquid form. Whether that is desirable is up for debate.

Just had a beer that “is brewed for men who lead where others follow” and so on. So much guff. Some Belgian marketing executives presumably thought it sounded good. Kwaremont Pittig Blonde from De Brabandere. 4/10 will not be buying again.

Not sure the ABC expected this story to sound quite as ominous as it does. Feels like the advert for an Australian version of Sapphire and Steel.

Local newspaper seems to have skipped over the “why?” part of this press release. Original of story here clearly mentioning extreme weather conditions & climate change www.utas.edu.au/about/news-a...
