Yeah 100%, often these people who might be correct about the fact that young men and women are being abused by some powerful people have other insane and disqualifying beliefs about child rights. Namely as you say that the greatest sin of trafficking is removing the child from the parent’s control.

You hear about Clinton pedophile ring conspiracies and it’s madness…but other stuff IS happening in their circles. Epstein of course, but also Bryan Singer, Diddy, and many others. It doesn’t justify stuff like the antisemitism that often comes with these theories, but they’ve never been 100% wrong.

I’ve always felt some sympathy for MAGA people for whom this was the main issue. Because while child trafficking is not on the scale that some people believe, they did correctly identify that the ones doing it are the rich and powerful. They just didn’t do the right thing with that info.

The most fascinating thing about reactionary centrist politics is that they don’t work and they are extremely unpopular and the only response its pushers have is “But what if it did work? What about if things were completely different? Have you considered that?”

Who could have predicted that running on a platform of change against a historically unpopular conservative party, only to essentially act as a 1-1 replacement for said party once in power, would lead to also being historically unpopular? Go figure.

For example: she’s said some stuff in favour of Palestinians an has called what’s going on in gaza a genocide, seemingly good. However It’s important to understand she says this more because she is anti-semitic than because she is pro-palestinian. She resents American money going to any foreigners.

Okay in fairness credible and useful studies are often funded by companies and then published. It’s pretty common, there’s a really useful and famous housing study, for example, that’s commonly called “the zwillow” study. However. This one feels more like a line from Idiocracy.
