The Owl Men of Shanidar by Coy Hall
A lonely colony on a deserted planet; ruins and artifacts of an ancient civilization; an archeologist protagonist... All of these elements made me pick up this book, and I was not disappointed!

After Atlas by Emma Newman
I really liked this dystopian blend of sci-fi and murder investigation.
It was interesting how events happening in the world in the background progressively became more relevant to the story and the protagonist, mounting to a surprising conclusion.

The River of Consciousness by Oliver Sacks
A collection of essays about the historical and scientific aspects of research into consciousness. The essays are very informative and a pleasure to read, and Sacks' amazing life shines through in each one.

Mordew by Alex Pheby
I'm not sure what to think of this one. The world building is amazing; very dark and grim but highly original, and fascinating nonetheless. However, the plot seems to go nowhere? Or maybe I missed something... Still debating if I should read the sequels.

The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji
This classic was a lot of fun! A straight up "isolated group tormented by a murder in their midst" with plenty of clues and red herrings.
The misdirection was very ingenious, I did not see the final revelation coming!

The Silver Pigs by Lindsey Davis
"Hardboiled private investigator in ancient Rome" is a great premise, but everything else about this book didn't work for me. Mildly interesting characters and historical authenticity aside, the plot felt boring and the prose confusing...
