On Saturday, I stood on a soapbox in Milton Keynes shopping centre and talked to the public about my research! It was great to engage with people about mending and sewing, especially the kids! @ougradsch.bsky.social @soapboxscience.bsky.social #soapboxsciMK25

🚨Labour broken promise alert 🚨

Labour promised to upgrade Britain's homes but now they're going to leave millions in cold homes, paying huge bills while energy companies profit

Households will pay £300 more in energy bills than they were promised (up to £500 for some!)

In May 2023, the residents of Mid Suffolk voted for change when they elected the first majority Green council in the UK.

So what have they been doing since then? Is it a new model? Definitely worth a read. 👇

This is what a rigged economy looks like:

In the 1970s, CEOs made 27 times more than the average worker.

In the 1980s, CEOs made 48 times more than the average worker.

This decade, CEOs are making 354 times more than the average worker.

That has got to change.

This afternoon, I joined my fellow Green MPs outside the Treasury with a clear message: our economy is broken, and it’s failing ordinary people.

We need bold action to tackle inequality and the climate crisis—business as usual isn't working. It’s time to rebalance the economy.
A photo of Sian Berry MP, Adrian Ramsay MP, Carla Denyer MP, and Ellie Chowns MP smiling with members of the Green Party, They are standing behind a large set of scales which is weighed down on one side by a banking bag labelled "wealth tax." On the lighter end of the scale is a banking bag labelled "welfare cuts." Some members of the Green Party hold placards saying "Rebalance the economy" and "Real hope. Real change." The four Green Party MPs pose in front of HM Treasury. They are stood behind a large set of scales and a placard reading "Rebalance the economy." Adrian Ramsay MP holds a banking bag labelled "Welfare cuts" and Carla Denyer MP holds a banking bag labelled "Wealth tax." The four Green Party MPs smile together with members of the Green Party and Baroness Natalie Bennett. One member holds a placard which reads "Rebalance the economy."
