I remember holding out hope that the Pacific editions of Sports Center would add some new segments. I watched a little of Howard Stern on E!, talk Soup was a hoot, and what was the Travel show they had, with Brooke Burke and then Tara Reid, I forget the male hosts they had?

That's basically how I was able to get caught up on Buffy. ER was such a revolving door I never quite caught up, but you really didn't need to cause it really was plug and play back then. Anthony Edwards last Episode was incredible, among so many others.

Spring 99' was my last semester. I did watch a ton of sportcenter when I came home and had access to cable. TNT took over my viewing with all the ER and Buffy Reruns, and I definitely Bingewatched Behind the Musics. The Holiday marathons were my go to. I just put a VHS and recorded 8hrs at a time

I remember seeing CHIPs on somewhere and wondering to my highfalutin self why anyone would be nostalgic for that campy show. 😅
I think I was so gloomy the thought of all that sunshine and Khaki really irked me. I needed more humor in my life for sure.

I never had cable the whole time I was in kirksville. I didn't even have a TV until I moved off campus. By then I got an antenna and figured out if I watched TV through the VCR the antenna got a signal boost. I used to go to sleep about 3am in the regular and ended up watching a ton of News Radio

That's Chris Pine's dad as their Chief/ Captian/ Sheriff right, and not another of the Chris;s? I remember learning about that and being wowed.

Having said all that, I appreciate your taking the time to respond at all, and the civility. That is why I am active on this app as my primary social media, for civility and left-leaning solidarity that isn't relegated to being contrary without agency.

For other people I know, where applicable, plan B is leaving their home in Red areas for Blue enclaves where they can soften their exposure to GOP policies, or leave the country for those who have the opportunity and better prospects abroad. Neither of those options are viable or preferable for me.
November 10, 2025 at 7:50 PM
I'm asking anyone on what I feel is my side, because the answers have been either "we have no options -- end of message" or "Anything but the GOP".

For me Plan B is contingent on elevating candidates and a platform that those on the left can coalition build around. But are people open to that?

The lead-in reply came to my feed second, but for me it definitely is the heart of the matter regarding "the lesser of two evils". Was Bernie Sanders our best effort in 2016? Can we as a constituency not do better than the existing Flowchart of DNC leadership dating back from the 80s/90s?

Wasn't a choice based on your profession. Your post came up in my feed, and I engaged (in good faith), which is what the app encourages, taking your statement at face value. People are people, and in a fair election our votes amount to the same, so every conversation is worth humoring for me.

To wind it back:

The folks elected to do the job are Plan A. They aren't able to inspire candidates in "Red" areas who can carry an election while respecting their "Blue" constituents values.

So if plan B is an alternative to plan A, there has to be a strategy to combat gerrymandering & rigging.

So I am just trying to get a barometer of people's desire to progress the more progressive of the two parties in our system, or progress beyond it with a politically viable alternative, or if the people who I thought may be allies aren't actually interested in working in solidarity collectively.
