When I was a kid my dad would put up a "stand" by the road with cucumbers and an honor can (old coffee can). 10 cents a cuke.

I'm in NJ, and if I'm not registered as a Dem, I can't vote for mayor. Because they don't even run a R, so the Dem primary is the race for mayor. Not that I would ever vote R.
