Yes and no. The reality is that just pumping a liquid out of the earth on the current economic landscape is extremely inexpensive independent of the labour costs, but with enough competition coming to market and reasonable regulation, you can definitely get the prices to match each other.

You see folks, using those other technologies doesn't require that you SET FIRE to the resource you've extracted. Those resources are still there to be recycled.
