As of today I have officially been working at this film lab for a whole year. Best job I've had so far, best boss too... Truly kept me afloat during the worst time of my life. Anyway, here is a shot from the first roll the lab developed for me.

In the event someone willfully misinterprets this... I'm not advocating for people to avoid posting updates around other releases. I just think you should post whenever, but focus on why your game is cool and not worry about chasing memes to find relevance.

Gang, I think it's time to admit posting about your game every day with memes is not about effectively marketing it or gaining wishlists... We have just been conditioned to chase number and get likes.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like you should have a bit more confidence in your own projects merits first and then just out of solidarity learn to celebrate other releases without spruiking your own.

One part of the indie marketing rat race that should probably die is the 'hitching your wagon' to other big releases in order to get eyes on your project. I'm sorry, your meme post is probably not going to help anyone care or actually remember your game that is still in development.

This is just how it feels when you are new and looking for a way in, not a condemnation of anyone... We'll see how I feel after SXSW Syd, but it's just hard to work out where to start while working on your first game.
