I wasn’t following closely… what happened with Lexi Missimo? I know she got injured recently but how was she doing up until then and do you think she’s still a top NWSL/Euro prospect when the transfer window opens?

I’m also curious if clubs (and fans) realize this or if coaches continue to get what feels like an outsized amount of blame to me.

Myriad injuries, weird circumstances (Covid Olys), talent gap? Nah, so so and so should have started instead of that other player, the coach is bad.

Makes sense. I worry about how many teens are signed in the NWSL but aren’t getting much or any game time and may not for years. It’s hard to develop if you’re not regularly playing competitive games, even if the training environment is good.

Curious if they can be loaned out to other teams and play in games? If so, imagine this ends with up being where you park your teens.

Feels like we are trending hard in the direction of every team needing to set up an Academy/D2 team - players need games for development.

Were any of these the wrong move though? To me, this all feels like the team doing the hard but necessary work to clean up poor choices under the previous GM. I think the team is much stronger now than day 1 2024 and it’s not even close.

Obvious one but still: we just freed up cap space and have 2 roster spots open. Timeline and strategy to fill those spots? Which positions are they focused on bolstering? Are they targeting college, international market, trades within NWSL?
