productivity could be summarizing emails, schedule meetings, assign tasks... all kinds of administrative stuff happening in the background

"......However, as with Larian, Bethesda, and Warhorse, Nowakowski stressed that AI cannot be used to replace creatives, or indeed to make a game, and that it's merely a tool to help speed up the process....."

quote from that article. so maybe it's of a summarize eMail, schedule meetings kind of AI

can you give an example where "techbros seem to love Tolkien"?
December 19, 2025 at 9:28 PM
I think the terms normal AI and GenAI are still a problem and might not be the same for everyone.
I assume for you, GenAI is AI that makes "art". stories pictures videos....

but what is "normal" AI? and where is the line between them
December 16, 2025 at 10:44 PM
I've seen this trend before. why are people going all the way back to vinyl instead of CD?
December 10, 2025 at 8:16 AM
the fine could be huge, but I know that is very unlikely.

the only good thing of a supposed arse-handing would be a big compensation for the fired person, so at least they don't have to worry too much while looking for a new job

I know Unions can be quite different in different countries, so maybe this is not that weird in your area. but if something like this can happen, what's even the point of a union?
November 25, 2025 at 10:00 PM
unknown worlds, the devs of subnautica said they are not going to use GenAI. Krafton is the publisher.
so maybe not all is lost here
November 14, 2025 at 10:18 PM
probably not now, but down the road they will be cheaper to operate.
it always comes down to money
November 5, 2025 at 8:27 AM
I'm still hopeful someone is going to use AI for something interesting, something that would be pretty much impossible without.
Imagine a game like Apex Legends where a stadium announcer is live commenting, calling out player names and things going on in the game.
November 4, 2025 at 4:51 PM
hell yeah, let me just grab 2000 W of green LEDs from work....

no more migraines!!
October 22, 2025 at 11:03 AM
ah ok, that might make it more interesting. can you give me a song with a good fade out solo so I can get a better idea of what you mean?
I think I prefer unexpected or surprising things like the sudden stop in Queen's We Will Rock You. or the rhythm changes in Katzenjammer's Land of Confusion cover
October 8, 2025 at 2:11 PM
interesting. I expected the opposite, a longer fade is less dramatic and more boring.

can you give me a song with a good long dramatic fade out?
October 7, 2025 at 7:27 AM
I never heard a fade out I would describe as "dramatic". can you give an example?

isn't that what we do in any strategy game, like civilization? or card games like hearthstone.
September 11, 2025 at 9:15 AM
when I read about this topic I often wonder why no one seems to "go after" the people that actually make the laws and take away trans rights, like judges and politicians
all that HP money would mean nothing if we remove the people that let themselves be influenced by it from their powerful positions

personally I am not afraid of nuclear power or the operation of the power plants.
I am worried about safe long term storage of nuclear waste. and the search for a solution on that is quite stagnant
September 3, 2025 at 10:19 AM
that's not a source, that's just the same statement with more text
August 31, 2025 at 12:54 PM
that's just normal supply and demand. unless the data center does not pay the same increased rate, then its bullshit
August 30, 2025 at 7:58 PM
got any source for that?
August 30, 2025 at 7:56 PM
even if there is online multiplayer, the game should work offline.
just say "multiplayer currently not available" and let me play the rest of the game solo
August 15, 2025 at 5:45 AM
on that note:

NOT 👏 ALL 👏 AI 👏 IS 👏 THE 👏 SAME

yes a lot of what's out there right now is AI slob trained on stolen art

but the right AI model for the right task can be a useful tool.
most people probably just don't want to put in the effort to use it that way
August 12, 2025 at 9:27 AM
this doesn't look too bad as a screenshot. maybe the belts just look full because they are 100% efficient..... but its nuclear, so of course it's no good 😆
August 2, 2025 at 7:28 PM
all of this seems off to me.
vastly more bots on twitter? probably.

but 75% Vs 2...... unlikely.
August 1, 2025 at 10:19 PM
I didn't expect to get that much reaction on this.

it was just supposed to be a silly comment that also adds a little bit of knowledge about greenhouse gases
