I asked Becky Hammon about the margins the Aces won today.

Hammon: “The margins were with our guards … Our post defense was mush better … did a better job on the glass.”

Hammon says she told the Aces “Let’s fix it now” during multiple timeouts.

“I think Jackie identified something she wanted to go to. I didn’t call anything. She was just going.”

Becky Hammon says she doesn’t understand why the Aces take a quarter to warm up.

Says she’s being having to call timeout too much in that period.

I asked Nate Tibbetts about the decision to go to deeper into his bench late in the 4th:

“Just being smart going forward.”

Tibbetts says Satou Sabally had an ankle injury and didn’t want to risk it more. Also said the lead was huge.

Nate Tibbetts on the momentum shift in the 2nd quarter:

“We kind of over dribbled … We just kind of stood and watched, and you can’t do that against a team like this.”

(Q: Kendra Andrews)

Nate Tibbetts on re-setting for Game 3:

“We’ve been down before. We’ve been overlooked …we’ve kind of always bounced back. Were exited to go home … Vegas did what they were supposed to do.”

Mercury are playing their bench beyond Kat Westbeld, DeWanna Bonner and Sami Whitcomb for the first time in the Finals.

Just seems too late perhaps to do that now.
