RIGHT?? like I know that glossy DOES make some styles of digital coloring look 'good' but to me that isn't anything that couldn't be resolved with just... less soupy coloring styles!

it's always the worst!! and yeah pardon the shitty screenshot but I see this kind of thing touted as 'how to draw action' when it's JUST a blur filter like... dog cmon (this isn't even the worst example tbh! no idea what this is from but it came up when searching 'webtoon motion blur' lol)

the house style of motion blur in digitally drawn webcomics/webtoons these days looks awful, stop doing it, please actually try drawing for once. glossy paper ALSO looks bad AND feels bad. I love a blorbo as much as the next guy but not every comic needs one to be good. UHHH TRY CROSSHATCHING NERDS

'comics twitter' sucked and we shouldn't recreate that. MG/YA isn't worth it unless you have passion for it- not everyone is Pilkey (and shouldn't be). you don't need an agent and you don't need a publisher. comics is the best medium on earth and no I'm not kidding!!
