Yeah, Silver Bullet definitely loses on the metric of “teenagers aggressively talking into one another’s mouths”

It’s a blast! That’s so sweet, I love picturing you two watching it together

Happy October!

I’m kicking off this year’s annual switcheroo with Hunter Allen of Kinemalogue by covering the first classic sci-fi movie he assigned me, Roger Corman’s 1963 outing X: THE MAN WITH THE X-RAY EYES!

Yeah, it’s from The Majorettes! Which COULD have been ripping off the Suspiria ad, but skulls were so trendy on horror posters back then, who could say

We’re drawing close to the end of 1985 in my slasher project! Here’s my review of the late giallo NOTHING UNDERNEATH, which features Donald Pleasence! As a mustachioed Italian police commissioner for some reason!

It’s my birthday! I’m doing a fund raiser to save up for the Friday the 13th con this weekend.

For every $10+ donation (it’s cool if you can’t), I’ll share a track from my playlist “Slashdance,” which compiles history’s best horror needle drops! 🎂❤️🔪

I’ve finally gotten to see my most anticipated movie of the year! For @screenrant.bsky.social, here’s my review of the latest installment in Disney Channel’s most delirious, glorious franchise: Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 4: DAWN OF THE VAMPIRES!

The last 45 seconds in particular are just astounding work. Completely un-self-conscious. An actor letting themselves be completely used up as a transmitter of pure emotion. Like a medium channeling a spirit.

Grateful to 28 Years Later for quite a few things, but most importantly for exposing me to the Taylor Holmes recording of the poem “Boots.” It’s literally 110 years old and it’s maybe one of the most gripping performances in any medium.

New slasher review! This time I take a look at 1989’s POST MORTEM - RETURN TO CARNAGE HALL, a microbudget shot-on-video movie made by college students which is a sequel to a film that’s impossible to find. But I kinda had a really good time?

This queer horror comedy is criminally underrated AND it also features both Judy Gemstone and Natalie Green. Find out why not having YOU'RE KILLING ME on your watchlist this Pride month is homophobic. Article by @itsrainingbrens.bsky.social #horrorsky

I think about that scene at least once a week.
