I mean neither do I and I'm sure they don't either. But from my viewpoint I guess the silver lining from the potential nightmare scenario we're facing would be that people end up learning from a mistake and we can really make positive changes

I think what they mean is they hope that after they inevitably vote for PP, their lives inevitably become worse in a "they'll see" kind of way
