existing online for me has always been about posting art and while my art does get interactions, the rest of my posts just feel like shouting into the void. to me. idk i don't have any social media aside from bsky and tumblr and i can't get used to posting personal stuff unprompted so, quiet it is?

I did try not to be too obvious as to what my previous username/accounts are, but I did do commissions and such for a lot of people in my community. Wonder if they would find me familiar. I wish we could reconnect, in a way, but I also think getting some distance and branching out was good for me.

Yeah! I'm also lucky enough to have found a job that's pretty quiet during fall/winter so I'll often have enough time for a doodle or two between emails :D So I hope your job doesn't stress you out too much! Art still finds ways to pop up, as it always has. It's never gone for long.

In a way, I value doing art more than before because now it no longer feels like the main defining trait of my life. Back on dA art was my only way of making money and friends so I leaned way too hard on it. But now it's not what's keeping me afloat so I feel like I can have fun with it again

Seconding the not forcing it part. I think that not viewing it as an obligation or a task really helped, and I basically wait for inspiration before I get started on anything. A lot of the time I'll be too tired and give up but when I actually do manage to draw something it feels like a little treat
