Burst's eyes and face are often large and give off how timid they are, while Lumen's childlike wonder is matched by features that look a bit babyish. There's lots of other PMD OCs too that use accessories, or even diverging from the original Pokemon designs more drastically to achieve similar! (6/9)

As for the gradient thing, rather than pen pressure (since I was thinking more in context of a fineliner with pure blacks and whites) I was thinking more stroke density. I doodled up a quick thing to try and show kinda the vibe I was thinking of? (sorry if it looks kinda scuffed 😅)
