Suwannee bass is one of the smaller members of the black bass genus (Micropterus) typically growing only ~8 in/21 cm long - though females grow faster + reach larger sizes than males. Mature fish often have turquoise blue coloration on the cheeks/belly that's brighter when breeding #25DaysofFishmas

The Suwannee bass has one of the most restricted native ranges of all the black basses, being native to only a couple river systems in Georgia/north Florida (Suwannee + Ochlockonee drainages). They’re a primarily riverine species, typically in streams with moderate/swift currents #25DaysofFishmas

British people really love to feel superior to everyone else but especially to Americans, so I'm not surprised you're getting that's reaction. It's amusing since they have generally the same xenophobic politics as Trump -it's just the crassness they can't abide.

With some exceptions, people I know are pretty apolitical and ambivalent, mostly because the system is corrupt to the bone (though they do love a protest!). A few people have asked me who I voted for but more for amusement than anything serious. And bukele is popular here, so trump isn't an anomaly

Happy to oblige! She has turned her back on us but still appears mostly friendly. The other flowers on the plant are boring and uncommunicative so far.
