"...Out with lanterns, looking for myself".
Translating, manga (primarily shoujo/josei and dramatic BL), occasional old anime, pot plants and flowers, minerals, Japanese and Italian culture
That would be a dream 😆 Although I'm one of those rare people who actually enjoyed 1998 attempt at Basara adaptation, it obviously covered only about 1/4 of the story but the style felt right to me

The Blue Flowers... is one of my favourites. Added Takahashi from the Bike Shop to my tbr list. Merci!

This manga is certainly a must read. Fantastic combination of a difficult topic depicted in a seemingly slice-of-life style. Those blank panels closer to the end of the first story when there are no images but just words... hit so very hard.

Same here. In my eyes she's an absolutely normal looking woman with no particural leaning into masculinity. But I remember lots of comments complaining about her "masculine" appearance when the trailer was realised a year ago. Mainly from men. I'm still baffled

Wonderful manga that really hits the nail on the head. I remember reading it and nodding all the way through. Also one of the panels I love as an answer to an annoying question: "Why are you single?"

Episodes 2-3: It keeps getting better. Asa's mental visuals, unspoken details, delicacy and truthfullness of interactions. Every single piece is in place and works so well to tell the story. I'm officially in love with this anime

Quite a lot of these I saw on people's "best BL" lists, but when I personally read them my reaction was "You can't be serious!" So thank you for a refreshing look on some hyped-up works. I always like reading opposite opinions, not just constant (very often groundless) praise

May I just say you've got a fantastic reading year! Some of these are my absolute favourites. And I always love to see fellow drama enjoyers, when it hurts but hurts good.
P.S. Seishirou and Subaru ending... agonizing but SO good. Broke my heart, but I don't mind

Really good works all round. I also have Tonari ni and Smoke Blue No Ame Nochi Hare on my list of manga I enjoyed most this year. They leave a wonderful elevated feel after reading, BL mixed with slice of life in its best form
