When I feel like the character is blending with the background too much I either add another lighter lineart around them or make a shadow so they can pop up... I always worry if my refs are good and not confusing

New OC in making. Ive got some ideas for his story. So he's some kind of undiscovered draconic cryptid that got discovered. So obvisously all kinds of people- scientists, poachers etc. want to get his skin so he tries his best to stay as undiscovered as possible

He has a massive finned tail and the tip of his tail is rhomb shaped. He has a mane on his head and one curved horn and big ears shaped like fish fins. He's sticking out his tongue that is light pink with darker spots and his eyes are pure white
