So yes, losing a fob or a key is just as bad (probably worse for the fob if you lose it somewhere on a parking lot).

When no one had access to your fob or your key, the fob is safer than the key, because a fake key is easier to obtain and a key-only car easier to start. (Excluding MITM attacks).

The key only allows entry into the vehicle, not starting the engine.

Although intergenerational postwar cohort would've been more correct, I think the term was just fine in this context.

Absolutely, but people younger than Gen X probably don't know what you're talking about.

In Canada, 24 degrees is not that cold. It's because of the metric system.

When management makes dumb decisions, it is a problem for engineering.

I.e. an engineering problem.

A coffeemaker that takes voice commands via Alexa hardly qualifies as "AI".

Besides it's a dumb idea. You still have to go to the machine to place your cup, and pick it up after brewing. I have no problem pressing a button in between.

Over here, 24 °C is a common room temperature, and considered pretty warm for a bedroom.

That's not what this test demonstrated. It only showed that on a short course that heavily favored an EV, the Tesla lost.

That's an impressive 10g acceleration.

@howiehua Don't you think that's a bit excessive for a normal conversation?

Why do they have to learn it in that order? Early in school we had to learn the 10x10 multiplication table. I was relieved to see that I only had to learn half of it!

The units are missing on the whiteboard.

My physics teacher always deducted points when I forgot to write down units to an answer. And rightfully so. Carelessness about units makes Mars Landers crash.

Sort of agree/disagree. You are implicitly adding units to these numbers. It's 8 [sets] x 3 [repetitions/set]. Since they are different units, it matters.

If I calculate an area, it doesn't matter whether I do length x width or width x length.

Yes, but if we make them from sturdier plastic, they'll last a year and we'll have new ones around next Christmas.
