I was one of the organizers. The people were invited to tell their stories about how they are being impacted by the cuts/firings/chaos. Their stories were so amazing, one after another. It was deeply moving and powerful

We did! And people wrote their stories on 6” x 8” cards, so even those who didn’t get to speak will have their stories told. We will deliver these to Barr. All 800 of them—we ran out of cards after that!

It was an amazing event. People were invited to tell their stories of how they are being impacted by the cuts/firings/chaos. The stories were amazing, moving, smart, with a deep love of community and country and a deep, deep concern about what is happening. It was civil, respectful. And intense.

Totally agree--doesn't sound true. Other MOCs are holding town halls, in both parties. I think it has more to do with Barr's disastrous 2017 'town hall' in the packed Lafayette HS auditorium, where he side-stepped all questions and was resoundingly booed. But yes, the irony if it were true.

Yes, sorry for the typo. Capitol police, that's what they said. Truly unbelievable.

Because, you know, his constituents in Lexington are so scary.

I met with his office staff last week for half an hour+ to go over the inaccuracies in a letter he had sent me and others about Elon Musk. I closed with a request that he hold a town hall. They said he had been advised by the capital police not to have any meetings because of security.

I was surprised that they wouldn't let us in, 2 x 2, to talk. If they had, there wouldn't be video of them having the police escort us out.
