As far as reality tv goes, this current show on the Trump dictatorship is exhausting. It's being shown in all media forms and the plot just gets increasingly crazy every day. People need to change the channel and tell the producers and organizers enough is enough. Time to end it.

A number of Canadian cities are building tiny homes to shelter homeless folks this winter. I'm not sure the people complaining about this being a free ride paid for by taxpayers and stating the homeless should be in jail or mental hospitals instead understand those institutions ate also tax funded.

I just watched Mark Carney speak at the University of Ottawa and I have to say I'm somewhat pumped. Let's see if they are truly focused on results in driving security, the economy, affordability, and good paying jobs for Canadians, while reducing government waste. He interesting to see new polls.

I just spent the entire weekend with three grandsons 5 and under. I'll admit I'm tired, but that fort we built in the basement with the Christmas light ceiling is awesome!

What is happening in the US with Trump threatening universities like Columbia and Harvard is chilling and takes us a step closer to authoritarian control. What is even more chilling is that Pierre Poilievre threatened the same Trumpian policy in 2022.

@theomoudakis.bsky.social or @deadder.bsky.social I was thinking with the CPC complaints about Mark Carney being nasty to people a cartoon of Carney taking a bite from an apple in the likeness of Pierre would be timely. Thoughts?

Am I missing something? Why are we Canadians not focused on driving down electricity costs? Jobs via infrastructure projects, attractive to industry, attractive to carbon free transport, lowers cost of living and promotes reduced carbon energy use.

I am going to get my act together and fully migrate to BlueSky. I want to use all social media to promote my book. There's no point doing this much work and let it be lost inall the noise. People need to know it exists, then make the choice of whether to buy and read it.
I'm grateful for any shares.

This is a really interesting paper and I am curious what others in the misinfo/disinfo space make of it...
The main result claimed here is that misinformation (in Western countries) is not simply linked to either populism or right-wing parties but very specifically to right-wing populist parties.
Misinformation isn't random - it's strategic. 🧵

In the first cross-national comparative study, we examine 32M tweets from politicians.

We find that misinformation is not a general condition: it is driven by populist radical right parties.
