Rook's Personalityetc

U’lea is very outgoing. He loves people and he loves the world. He doesn't hesitate to help out when he can. He's kind to strangers. He often turns to humour. But, he's also very bratty, has a short fuse and is very emotional. He fears many things and is a coward, but tries to hide it. He's reckless and doesn't think before he acts. He believes he can't do anything right due to all the times he tries to help and it ends badly. He says random stuff without thinking and is terrible at talking about deep things and feelings.

U’lea believed he was only into men most of his life, until he got older. His type is someone dominant, muscular and often tall. He was a virgin until he got together with Davrin, and eventually Taash (he's dating both).

When it comes to romance, he had little experience except for a few kisses in the past because people thought he was weird. He's shy, but opens up when in a relationship he's comfortable with, and he can be needy and horny. Being manhandled is his favourite pastime.

Rook's Story

U’lea was found as a baby in The Necropolis. He was surrounded by curious wisps, watching over him and protecting him. It looked like a sea of stars, so they named him “Friend of the Stars”. No one took him in, instead he was sent to an orphanage in Nevarra city. While he belonged to the orphanage, the workers there didn't actually care about their kids, and maybe fed them once in a while. Instead they had to survive mostly on their own. He grew up living on the streets of Nevarra, and survived by stealing. Being very naive and gullible, he often trusted the wrong people, thinking they were his friends, but instead they used him for their own gains. He spent many nights in jail for being caught stealing, or being forced to take the blame for his “friends”.

When U’lea started puberty, his magic awakened, and his formerly brown eyes turned a dark purple. He was then sent back to The Necropolis to study to become a Mourn Watcher. He was not good in school, and was rebellious. He got into a lot of trouble and barely graduated. He was terrible at theoretical learning, but good at practical learning. He loves exploring, running and looking for treasure, and spent a lot of time getting lost in The Necropolis.

Rook's Parents

His father was also an elven necromancer, but relatively unknown. He went on a visit to Tevinter once, where he met an elven woman who was a slave and fell in love with her. She ended up pregnant with U'lea, and so they ran off to Nevarra together, but were eventually found by her master. His father and the master killed each other, but his mother managed to get away and take baby U’lea to a hiding spot, then she succumbed to her wounds and died.

His mother was a Dalish elf before she was kidnapped and made a slave.

Pre-Veilguard

Before U’lea stopped the undead uprising, he thought he finally had a home in The Necropolis. The Watchers chose to temporarily “exile” him to calm down the angry nobles, making him feel betrayed and hurt. Varric saw something in him that no one else had, and decided to take him under his wing. He taught U’lea that even though he's reckless and a coward, he can still do some good in the world without needing to change as a person. Varric became like a father to him, and he was the first person his trust and love wasn't wasted on.

Post-Veilguard

After the end of the Veilguard story, U'lea, Davrin and Taash decided to travel. Their first stop was his mom's Dalish clan that Davrin helped find so he could learn more about his mother. Next was visiting Davrin's Dalish clan. Afterwards, the 3 of them and Assam went south to help clean up the blight, dark spawn and anything left over. They helped rebuild many villages. U’lea also tends to drag them on adventures to explore and find treasure. After a few years, Taash was finally ready to face what their mother had left them—the secrets of the tablet. U’lea, Davrin, Taash and Assan hired a ship to take them across the ocean to learn everything they can about the storm.

This ended up being the toughest task of #wemmrichweek, even though it was the first idea I had. Thinking about Emmrich’s fear of death, and how many times he must have endured the loss of loved ones… it makes today a hard day
