I had a similar question. Farmers sell into commodity markets and while they can hedge the prices they can only really influence them with the amount they supply (think major drought). The main driver is demand for the commodity. If it costs more to grow with no return I would expect farm failures.

Let them own the shutdown. Resist, dam it.

Do not vote for this bill. How much clearer do we need to say it. Fight the Republicans at every turn.
