Mayor Keith Wilson to feds, politely fuck-off. Your requests are unreasonable and frequently violate the Constitution. So Portland police absolutely will not comply with your ridiculous requests! They will instead continue to act appropriately under the circumstances presented.

Beyond belief. The founder of Truth Social, who routinely posts BS with the intent that his millions of followers would view and react to same purportedly didn't understand that his similar post to AG Bondi would be public. You would have to be an idiot to believe that.

Schiff: "If a president in secret can put names on a list and kill them, then there is no war power still retained by Congress, and there's no check on an executive who may drag us into another war."

Corruption within the ranks of Republicans in Congress, and likely within the White House, are endemic.

Highly unusual. Perhaps JD Vance is also brushing up on the basics of the 25th Amendment!

Trump (1) reveals he doesn't know what habeas corpus is and (2) punts to Noem, who famously revealed her own ignorance at a Senate hearing when she defined habeas corpus as "a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country."

Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

If you had bothered to read the article, rather than just the headline, you would realize that the article is focused on a problem greater than Harvard students skipping an occasional class or two.

familiarity. This differential is completely insane. It's far more important that our electeds have at least a rudimentary understanding of the foregoing than that prospective citizens do!
j-waller55.bsky.social
We require prospective new citizens to demonstrate that they have a basic familiarity with our Constitution, the basics of our form of gov't, and critical aspects of our history as a nation. But candidates for public offices, including the presidency, aren't required to demonstrate the same

This detail about the Palisades arrest is wild:
While on the phone with 911, Rinderknecht allegedly typed a question into ChatGPT: “Are you at fault if a fire is lift because of your cigarettes,” according to the criminal complaint. www.latimes.com/california/s...

Nor is ducking legitimate questions via a variety of techniques being transparent. Nor is being aggressive and hostile to members of Congress who are endeavoring to conduct their Constitutional duties of oversight over the Executive branch of our gov't.
j-waller55.bsky.social
Despite the repeated claims of Trump, his Propaganda Princess Press Secretary, and other Trump Admin personnel that Trump's Admin is very transparent about everything, they are in fact nothing of the sort. Spewing lies and misinformation instead of the truth is not being transparent.

Grand jurors aren't willing to return criminal indictments for ticky-tack charges! Nor should they!

Hegseth's efforts to identify and remove Defense Dept personnel who spoke ill of Charlie Kirk (probably pointing out his racist, xenophobic, and misogynistic comments), is reminiscent of the McCarthy era efforts to identify, disparage, and drive alleged communists out of gov't and many businesses.

Perhaps Bondi will produce the antifa organizational chart that she and the Trump Admin are apparently relying upon. It should be very amusing as artifa has no real structure to depict in such a chart.

After a nearly five-hour congressional oversight hearing, Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared as the “president’s loyalist rather than as a constitutional officer with the appropriate respect for a coordinate branch of government,” Quinta Jurecic argues:
Pam Bondi, Loyal Servant
At a congressional oversight hearing yesterday, the attorney general followed her north star: pleasing the president.

A MAGA AG dumping false oppo in an oversight hearing shows just how low they go. We usually expect Attorneys General to say true things. Seems like a reasonable expectation.

AG Bondi, here’s that correction you requested.

Trump, the same ignorant schmuck who made modest changes to NAFTA before rebranding it as USMCA, which he then described as a great trade agreement, now violates it in many ways via his tariffs. Trump isn't trustworthy, which our allies now realize and are thus reducing their reliance on the US.

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee this morning, but what conceivable basis is there to refuse to answer whether the DOJ has issued any subpoenas to journalists?

NOTABLE -- Pam Bondi refuses to answer direct questions about if the FBI has incriminating photos of Trump with half-naked young women, but instead deflects from them by attacking Sen. Whitehouse

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse asked Pam Bondi about DOJ's decision to drop the investigation into Tom Homan.

MSNBC first reported that Homan was recorded in Sept. 2024 accepting a bag with $50,000 in cash in an undercover FBI sting.

Bondi refused to answer, then attacked Whitehouse.
